In 2001, following a tip off from someone involved in the creation of this mass grave, the UN uncovered over 700 bodies of civilians from the 1995 Srebrenica massacre. Over 8000 civilians were murdered by the Serbian forces in Srebenica, Crni Vrh (meaning Black Peak) was the largest mass grave found in Bosnia. Laying in a dense woodland near the small town of Zvornik on the Bosnian-Serb border, this 4 by 20 meter grave is one of 16 other mass graves found within a few square kilometers.
